Koh Samui’s most luxurious and one of the most major events of the year – The Samui Regatta will come back again during 23th – 30th May 2015. This time marks the 14th edition of this mega event on this paradise island. This 8-day event will be held at its regular venue – at the Centara Grand Beach Resort on Chaweng Beach.

Event Highlight in 2015
This year, Samui Regatta event is expected to have 500 competitors from over 22 countries. There will be fun races, parties and gala dinner for the 8-day boat event. Total of 5-day racing and 1 reserve day with 10 maximum races will be featured at the Regatta event. Skippers and crews will enjoy a sailing course of Coastal, Trapezoid, Windward/Leeward, or Triangle formats, depending on weather conditions.
Highlight activities such as the opening event at the Zico’s Brazilian Grill Bar at the Centara Grand Beach, while during the mid-week – A Hawaiian themed party will be held at KC Beach Club. The event will end with the amazing sit-down dinner catering 500 guests at the Centara Grand Beach Resort.
Event Fee
Outsiders can participate in the event’s seven parties featuring live bands, DJ and unlimited food and drinks with entrance fees of 1,000 THB/ person/ night and 5,000 THB/person/week.
Event Purpose
The Samui Regatta event is aimed to promote Samui island as a destination for sailing and luxurious water sport as well as to increase number of tourists to the island.
Last year the event was able to generate an estimated of 30 million THB worth of media coverage and put over 18 million THB into the local economy.
Samui Regatta started off with just 11 boats, mainly made up of beach catamarans, the event gained a reputation for offering great hospitality and competitive sailing. At the moment, the fleet has now grown into one of the most competitive in Asia and is now placed as the final event of the prestigious Asian Yachting Grand Prix Championship.
