The Luxury Signature: Hi Jess and Nanya, it’s so great to have this conversation with you! We’ve been huge fans of the incredible work you do at The Wedding Bliss Thailand, and we’re really excited to dive into your journey, hear about your experiences, and get your expert take on the destination wedding industry.

First things first, can you share the story behind The Wedding Bliss Thailand and how it came to life? How have your individual backgrounds influenced and inspired you to create a luxury wedding planning company?

JESS: It was actually Nanya who dreamed of becoming a wedding planner after graduation, but she was specifically interested in planning Western-style weddings with a traditional “walk down the aisle” ceremony. She then discussed this with me, who has the expertise in marketing and communication.

NANYA: It wasn’t until later that we decided to establish a company in Phuket, specializing in destination weddings for couples from around the world.

As sisters and business partners, how do you balance your individual strengths and responsibilities to lead your team successfully?

JESS: Nanya is the Destination Wedding Planning Director, responsible for overseeing the entire wedding planning process while working alongside the company’s assigned planners. As the Executive Director, I’m in charge of corporate affairs and also monitoring global wedding trends.

What do you think sets The Wedding Bliss apart from other luxury wedding planners in Thailand?

JESS: When you hire TWB as your wedding planner and designer, we bring your vision to life—just as you’ve seen in global media and on Pinterest. With a keen eye for international aesthetics, we understand how to achieve the look and feel our clients desire.

NANYA: We are dedicated to providing 5-star service, with our entire team working tirelessly to ensure that every aspect—planning, design, and production—meets the highest global standards.

What makes Thailand such a standout destination for high-end weddings, and what unique experiences can couples expect that they wouldn’t find elsewhere?

JESS: Firstly, Thailand is truly beautiful, offering everything in one country—from mountains and beaches to waterfalls and more.

Secondly, our pricing is competitive. While our service rates may be slightly higher than the local standard, when compared to luxury pricing in Western countries, we offer exceptional value.

NANYA: We feel that Thai hospitality is unmatched, providing a level of service beyond what you can find elsewhere. Additionally, we offer a wide variety of options for people from all around the world to enjoy.

What are the most sought-after wedding venues for luxury destination weddings, and what makes them so desirable?

JESS: We’ve noticed that beach and ocean-view settings remain the most sought-after venues, with a mountain vibe coming in second.

Your first official overseas destination wedding in Tuscany looked like an absolute dream. What unique challenges and opportunities do overseas weddings present, and are you open to taking on more weddings outside of Thailand in the future?

NANYA: Yes, we love taking on weddings outside of Thailand! We actually have strong connections with vendors in major wedding destinations worldwide.

JESS: With today’s technology, we can seamlessly plan weddings remotely, ensuring a smooth process—as long as we have trusted partners and vendors in place.

Back to Thailand, how would you say the luxury wedding industry has evolved over the years?

JESS: We’ve noticed that it has become increasingly popular, especially since 2018. Ten years ago, destination weddings were relatively unknown or of little interest to most Thai people. Back then, they were primarily popular among clients who had studied or lived abroad. However, as Thai influencers began hosting more destination weddings, awareness of this concept grew, inspiring more Thai couples to consider it for their own celebrations.

For our foreign clients, our business has been growing steadily since 2013.

Could you share some insights into how your team manages and executes wedding events while ensuring the same high standards of service and creativity throughout the years?

NANYA: Certainly! Everyone on our team has undergone extensive training in this industry. Each team member must fully understand our company’s database and be able to match the right vendors with the right clients.

JESS: Additionally, everyone is required to learn TWB’s vision, mission, and signature style. We have our own unique way of conducting business, and it is essential that the entire team moves in the same direction, aligned with our core values and approach.

What are the biggest challenges that couples face with planning a destination wedding, and how do you help overcome them? Additionally, how do you help them bring their vision to life?

NANYA: We’ve noticed that most couples experience worry and stress at some point during the planning process, no matter what. We must always remember that we are working with inexperienced clients—for them, this is a once-in-a-lifetime event.

JESS: We also see that many clients have little to no idea how the process works, which can make them feel anxious, especially when they can’t visualize the final outcome. It’s our responsibility to ensure that the planning stays on track, aligns with the agreed timeline, and that the design meets their expectations while staying within an approved budget.

How far in advance should couples begin planning their destination wedding to ensure availability and the best experience?

NANYA: Our suggestion is to start planning weddings 8-12 months in advance, at least. That should give them enough time to make sure everyone’s available.

How can couples set a realistic budget for a destination wedding, and what are some common unexpected costs to be aware of?

JESS: We’ve noticed that most clients end up spending more than their initial budget. Our job is to clarify additional costs they may need to consider for their wedding and any extra elements they may want to include.

NANYA: We set clear expectations from the beginning by providing an average minimum spending estimate, while also allowing flexibility for clients to understand that they may choose to add more elements to their wedding as the planning progresses.

What are the most common mistakes couples should be mindful of when planning a destination wedding?

NANYA: Some people assume that Thailand is inexpensive and that wedding costs are generally low. However, if they are planning a luxury-scale wedding, they need to be mindful of the actual costs involved.

JESS: It’s also important not to be swayed by overly inexpensive options while expecting high-quality results. In Thailand, there is a significant gap between high-quality service providers and lower-tier options, so couples must be cautious when selecting vendors to ensure they receive the level of quality they desire.

What is one key piece of advice you always make sure to give couples?

JESS: Honestly, we always tell our clients to just trust the process—when you work with the right planners and vendors, everything will come together beautifully!

What do you think are the most exciting wedding trends this year that you can’t wait to incorporate into your upcoming weddings?

JESS: Personally, the trends we’ve noticed are more diverse and ever-evolving throughout the years. We’ve seen it all, but looking into trends allows us to have fun exploring new possibilities that this industry has to offer.

What has been the most challenging aspects of being luxury wedding planners, and what do you find to be the most rewarding part of the process?

NANYA: To be honest, working in this industry can be exhausting and stressful, but the rewards come the moment each production is complete. For us, seeing the weddings we plan come to life and witnessing the joy of our clients is truly priceless.

Lastly, what’s on the horizon for The Wedding Bliss? Any exciting projects or new services in the pipeline?

JESS: Yes! We’ve been busy lately because we just went through high wedding season. We’re also looking to expand further into a wider range of celebrations, so we’re open to more collaborations.
