Thailand has been long known as a country that offers one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere in the world. In fact, the country welcomed 26.7 million tourists in the year 2013, and their common destinations are of course the places where they can enjoy white powdery beaches.

If you are annoyed of the crowd and would want to avoid the typical popular destinations, here’s a list of some of the most secluded beaches that can be found in some of the most beautiful part and islands of Thailand. These hidden beaches may be hard to reach, but all your effort will surely pay off once you get there.

  1. Sunset Beach in Koh Lipe

Koh Lipe Island is located at Thailand’s southwestern coast that is close to Malaysia. The island is measured to be 1 kilometer wide and 2 kilometers long. The island is famous for as a great place for dive. The most secluded beach in Koh Lipe is the Sunset Beach. It’s called Sunset Beach because tourists can watch an incredible display of colors in the sky during sunset. Snorkeling and swimming are also great activities that visitors can enjoy. There are grass huts and air-conditioned bungalows that tourists can rent.

However, the price is quite high since the place is exclusive. To reach the island, one can take a ride on a speedboat or a ferry that will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. There is no need to worry about the transportation after reaching the island because there are motorbikes and cars in the area.

Resorts and restaurants are also available in the beach. The most famous attraction near Koh Lipe is the Tarutao National Marine Park that one should not miss.

  1. Koh Tarutao

Located in the Andaman Sea, Koh Tarutao is near the coast of Satun Province. The island is in the southwestern part of Thailand, and it is the largest island in the Tarutao National Marine Park. As it ranks as a national marine park, nature is still well preserved. Recommended activity here is bird watching while snorkeling, collecting shells and swimming can also be enjoyed. There is a ferry service from Koh Lipe or Pak Bara to commute tourists to the destination that will take around 45 minutes.

  1. Koh Phayam

Ko Phayam is the second largest island in the Andaman Sea. It is near the coast of Ranong Province. Koh Phayam is similar to what Ko Samui was 30 years ago. Going to the island is like traveling back in time.

There are more and more tourists that devote their time and effort just to reach the island. Travelers can reach the island either by a slow or a speed boat that will take two hours and 40 minutes ride respectively.

Tourists who want to see the magical beauty of the beaches in Koh Phayam will undoubtedly be thrilled by its charm and the activities that can be enjoyed. There are walking trails that can guide you while you are strolling in the island. The most famous beaches on the island are the Ao Yai, Ao Khao Kwai and Ao Kwang Peeb beaches.

  1. Trang Beaches

Trang is a beautiful province located in the Andaman Sea. Trang is a quiet province in the southern of Thailand. It is known as a fascinating destination for tourists who want to see mountains, jungles, waterfalls, and beaches. Pak Meng, Had Chao Mai, and Had Chang Lang are the three top beaches in Trang province. Places in Trang province include Koh Libong, Koh Sukorn, Koh Mook, Koh Kra Dan and Koh Ngai that are awaiting to surprise roamers with stunning nature and pristine beaches. The province is also famous for a wedding destination as it is a romantic and quiet places for the couples. In fact, hundreds of couples tie the knot each year in the province.

Trang can be accessed by airplane, but to travel to the islands around the province require some effort as the pier is around 40 minutes drive from the airport.

  1. Koh Jum Island in Krabi Town

Koh Jum or Ko Phu Island is between Krabi land and Ko Lanta. Great beaches coupled with a relaxing atmosphere is what one will get from visiting Koh Jum. The beaches in Koh Jum are mostly located in the west coast with some beaches such as Banyan bay and Lubo beach can be found in the north coast. Other hidden beaches in the island are Ao Ting Rai and Ao Si and the Golden Pearl beach and Andaman beach can be found in the south coast. All the beaches here are very natural and fringed with trees providing shades throughout the day.

Take a ferry service from Krabi to Koh Lanta where it will drop by Koh Jum along the way. The ferry will take around 45-minute to arrive the island.

  1. Mango Bay in Koh Tao

Koh Tao is located in the north of Koh Samui. It is a place known to be a mecca for amateur divers. Although the island is famous among tourists, Mango bay can still hold its exclusivity as it’s being surrounded by cliffs. Hiking and beach activities are what most visitors can enjoy on the beach. To reach there, one will need to take a boat or walk in the pathway in the mountaintop to reach the beach.

  1. Mai Phai Bay in Koh Lanta

Mai Phai Bay, also known as Bamboo Bay, can be found on the southwest coast of Koh Lanta. The beach is like a secret tropical paradise where it require some effort to reach there. Strolling, diving, snorkeling, elephant trekking, and camping are just few of the things that visitors can enjoy on the island.

The island is very seasonal, making it more challenging to visit, but it is worth every effort. It will take at least around two hours ride to reach the island from Krabi Province by a car ferry.

  1. Koh Bulon Lae in Satun

Koh Bulon Lae is an island in the Satun province. It is situated in a quiet and safe place in Southern Thailand. Swimming and other beach activities are available on the island. There are just a few accommodations on the island ranging from the local to the luxury ones.  Just like other beaches, Koh Bulon Lae can be reached through speedboats.

  1. Koh Kradan

Koh Kradan is part of the Trang province. The hidden beach has white sand and is surrounded with green hills. Snorkeling, strolling and getting Thai massage are the popular activities that you can try in the island. Koh Kradan can be reached via ferry from Krabi which will take 1.20-hr ride from the mainland.
