Thailand is world-renowned for its many beautiful islands with long stretches of white sand coastline, sparkling blue ocean, hospitable people and luxury accommodation. To save you all beach enthusiasts out there time for searching, here is the list of ten best beaches in Thailand that are listed in the 2015 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice.

  1. Nai Harn Beach, Phuket

One of the 2 beaches that made it to the top 10 beaches in Asia by TripAdvisor, Nai Harn beach is stunningly flanked by jungle covered mountainsides and features a freshwater lagoon perfect for year-round swimming. Popular among the locals and residents, Nai Harn has not yet become a tourist trap and is not often overcrowded. It has a large area of thick but soft sandy beach. The quality of the water is superb with its turquoise crystal clear feature that simply take one’s breath away.

There are few hotels in Nai Harn Beach, with accommodations to suit any budget, and some Bed and Breakfast or private holiday villas are also available for rental. Numerous of restaurants, local fashion shops, and beach massage places can be found on the beach. During the high season, the beach will turn into a popular spot for boats anchorage.

The beach is swimmable during November to April while, during May to October, swimmers should enjoy the sea with caution due to high chance of undercurrent.

  1. Railay Beach, Krabi Province

Railay Beach is known for its perfect balance of adventurous activities and relaxing atmosphere. Travelers can climb the famous twisted limestone rocks, take a jungle trek, try whitewater rafting, a Sea Kayaking or a Stand Up Paddle Boarding or even ride an elephant.

Railay Beach is surrounded by limestone cliff, and it is only accessible by a boat. Railay is roughly divided into two main areas; the eastern Railay and the western one. The west side has better beach area where it has high tide almost all day while the east one has low tide turning it into a mud area.

Rock climbing in Railay is well-known worldwide due to its incredible rock formation that poses a challenge to adrenaline junkies.

There are several accommodations, numerous of restaurants and shops for travelers to choose.

  1. Kata Noi Beach, Phuket

This little bay is tucked away just over the hill from famous Kata Beach. Kata Noi offers an intimate, romantic atmosphere and is also popular among surfers during the monsoon season. Apart from enjoying the beach, travelers can also do other watersports activities such as swimming and snorkeling. However, caution should be taken for all swimmers during the monsoon season.

There are not so many accommodations in Kata Noi compared to other beaches in Phuket. However, a few shops, convenient stores and bars can be found in the area.

  1. Phra Nang Beach, Krabi Province

Phra Nang is the hidden jewel of the Andaman Sea. Its clear waters, white sand and fascinating rock formations are accessible only by boat. Travelers can hire sea kayaks from Railay Beach to venture to Phra Nang or trekking from Railay Beach using a sidewalk along the cliffside, or take a guided Longtail Boat from Ao Nang. Phra Nang Beach has only one high-end resort there. There is no shop on the premises, but there are boats mooring along the beach selling everything from a burger to a smoothie juice. Beach massage camps can be found at Phra Nang Beach.

  1. Sunrise Beach, Koh Lipe, Satun Province

Located on the west side of Koh Lipe, Sunrise Beach is named after the spectacular sunrises that can be viewed from its shores. Known as Hat Chao Ley by the locals, this beach is one of the best snorkeling locations in Thailand. An enormous range of aquatic life can be viewed in the crystal clear waters. The beach is less commercial than the Pattaya beach, located in the same island. During May to October is the monsoon season on the island so vacationers might want to consider paying a visit to this paradise from November to April instead.

  1. Thong Nai Pan Noi, Ko Phangan, Surat Thani Province

This beach offers a relaxed, Bohemian atmosphere reminiscent of Venice Beach in LA. Thong Nai Pan Noi boasts an incredible beach area and crystal clear sea water. Visitors here enjoy wandering the small village and relaxing in the fashionable bars and restaurants. Regardless of its area, there are plenty of accommodation and resorts for guests’ convenience.

  1. Karon Beach, Phuket

Ranked third as the longest beach in Phuket, Karon Beach is a 3km stretch of sparkling white sand popular with family groups. Karon is an excellent place to spend a lively but not so crowded vacation as the beach has enough space for every traveler to relax. Beachgoers can also choose to go snorkeling or diving at several spots around Karon area.

One of the highlights of this beach is the Dino Park Mini Golf course that offers clean, family fun in a prehistoric atmosphere. At the north end of Karon beach, there is a broad range of restaurants to suit any taste.

This beach offers Freedom from the drone of jet ski engines and other leisure craft and is often quiet because many people do not take the trouble to travel here. Accessible only by Longtail Boat from the southern end of crowded Patong Beach, Freedom Beach is a hidden treasure. This idyllic location is perfect for swimming, snorkeling or relaxing with a good book.

Long Beach earned its name because it is 5kms of uninterrupted white sand and blue sea. The expanse of beach means it very rarely feels cluttered or crowded, and there is space for everyone to relax and play. Long Beach boasts a vast number of beachfront bars, restaurants and hotels that are perfect locations from which to enjoy the spectacular sunsets.

  1. Laem Tong Beach, Koh Phi Phi Don

This exclusive beach is accessible only by Longtail Boat and has just four-holiday resorts, offering guests almost complete seclusion and privacy. The pace of life at Laem Tong Bay is slow and relaxed, and people choose to holiday here for the serene atmosphere.
